If we had stayed top 4....
Would you still want him gone?

Yes or no

And why?

Me personally I would've wanted him to stay as he would've done a good job, when we are winning his arrogance is justified but when we are losing his arrogance rubs me up the wrong way

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
IMHO he cost us around 9-15 pts maybe more by accommodating Nolan which would have obviously made a big difference to our season.
Clearly 4th was not maintainable but I see no reason why we couldn't have kept up with Southampton.
Obviously the injuries had a huge impact but how many seasons are they gonna use that excuse, it's the same for every club and we had the chance to sort the squad out last summer and in January but they left us with only 3 decent CBs and 2 decent strikers 3rd season in a row.

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
Of course not but we are going to finish 11th or 12th now and we've been utter dogshit for most of the season. If's, what's, maybe's ....... fact is he blew it

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
When we were 4th, BFS was playing decent football and we were winning.

Unfortauntely, BFS thought it was more important to try and find a starting place for Nolan and Carroll then it was for us to actually win football matches so the starting line-up changed, as did the tactics (ie Downing moved out to the wing to accommodate Nolan even though Downing was one of our best players during this period).

I strongly believe that BFS was mainly responsible for our demise from 4th. I don't expect we would have stayed there but I expect we would have done better had he not fucked about with a winning formula.

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
The Nolan thing is disgraceful and he should be sacked just for that as he has put himself and his favourite son before the club and his employers.

Everyone, commentators, pundits, fans and even the chairmans 12 year old son could see he was finished last season but Sam just kept picking him, changing the set up to accomadate to boot and we kept on dropping points.

I wonder if Sam regrets his insistence on accommodating Nolan. It is, after all, one of the fundamental issues that has ultimately cost him his job.

"We have won 2 games since Carroll got injured..."

We had 5 wins and 3 draws before AC made his first start against Everton. The point about stats is to understand what other things happened to effect those stats - something our manager seems to lack as well.

I think most of us understand that playing 2 mobile strikers with a diamond formation created a new attacking brand of football.

Playing AC means having an immobile lump up front as a target. Although AC is good at that role, after he was injured again, SA was completely inflexible about going back to what had previously worked which affected the stats.

A flexible manager other than SA would have gone back to what had worked so well previously without AC but that would have meant no place for Nolan. That is what I think unduly affected the stats.

It was SA's failure to change back that caused the slump after AC became injured again and we continued to play as though he was still in the side. It has cost him his job...

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
Our preparations for the Newcastle game are going well I see.

The Walrus's two assistants seem more interested in fixing themselves up at other clubs.
The Walrus extended his days off with another yesterday.

Newcastle fans,I know you have only acquired one point out of the last thirty, but have no fear, our lot are already on holiday, having been (mis)led by a lazy grease ball barrel of excrement for the last five months. Three points on Sunday should be no trouble.

Of course I would. It would have been a fantastic achievement.

I'd put up with the football if the results kept coming but frankly, second half of the season has fallen apart.

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
If your a defender playing against us the last man you want to see coming off the bench is Andy Carroll after being the run around by Valencia and Sakho.
However when Carroll starts it's a matter of 2 marking him keeping him quiet all game. Easily done. Carroll would be a great option from the bench.

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
We have won 2 games sine Carroll got injured. Hes no burden. Maybe just not a guranteed starter he seems to be under Sam.

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
No obviously. He would have shown that he is more Than just the one dimensional dinosaur that we all know he is by playing 'that' attacking football we played at the start where he played the BEST Stewart Downing of his career behind the striker instead of him being isolated on the wing. But that if course all went pear shaped for his beloved Nolan. He confused players by changing back to that route 1 shit he desires. Sakho was unplayable at times this season before Carroll came back on the scene. Shit middle and end to the season But will be made easier to come to terms that the fact we we're in a champions league spot at xmas and have now dropped into the bottom half with horrible tactics and team selections By that fool.

But...... a manager that offers more has to be in place before he gets the tin tack.

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
The good thing about Sam leaving will be his pal looking to move on his players Asap to get more signing on fees and burden another club with over paid dross

The bad thing is Tomkins has signed to the parasite and is the only player of value that other clubs would want

I think a fit Andy Carroll is an asset to the team.

Just the fit part that seems a problem.

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
I think Andy Carroll is a burden. We should get rid.

He fundamentally altered the way we played last year and then he was injured yet again.

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
A Sam allardyce team will never ever finish in the top 4. He showed this season why. We had a good settled team and played well however when plan a, b, c and d was back in Mr Carroll we began to fall away. We scored less and ok Carroll had 4-5 decent games we knew it wouldn't last. Most managers in our position would have strengthened in January. We didn't.
If we didn't have that great start we would be in Hull's position right now, looking ok then dropping like a sack of shit. We have been lucky really and only our early season form has kept us away from the drop.

If he had won anytimg or finished in the top four I would still want him gone

I will stand by that statement and challenge any of you to prove me wrong on it

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
Didn't someone on here have a spread bet at the start of the season with 48 points being the magic number needed?

The last five months must have been (even more) painful.

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
My opinion of SA is based entirely on the evidence of his shit management.

It has nothing to do with a personal dislike for the bullshitting, fan insulting, narcissistic, favouritism giving, back-hander taking, gum chewing liar that is SA.

My judgement of SA goes much deeper than that.
